Bernarda, the daughter of Sebastiano di Palermo and Maria Tufanio, is born and baptized in March 1872 in Corleone. Her godparents are Salvatore Colletto and his wife, Paola lo Liggio.[1]
Bernarda, age 23, her sister, Paola, age 26, their maternal aunt, Barbara Tufanio, and her husband, Vincenzo Soldano, arrive in New Orleans from Palermo in 1895 on the SS Montebello.[2]
"Bernardina" marries Giacomo Bonaccorso, a plasterer, at St. Lucy's Church Manhattan on 25 February 1917.[3] Witnesses to the marriage are Antonino Patti and Teresa Patti.
